Allen High School Escadrille In The 1989 Cotton Bowl Parade
After the Allen High School 1988-89 Escadrille was crowned the AAAA state marching champions for the second consecutive year, the Escadrille marched in the Cotton Bowl Parade in downtown Dallas on January 2, 1989. The Cotton Bowl Parade was broadcast nationally by CBS.
The Escadrille was one of the only two bands from Texas. They were the only band that did not have to audition for a chance to participate in the parade. They were asked to march in the parade because of their two finishes as state champions.
The Escadrille was originally scheduled to march behind Casper during the parade, but ended up marching behind the Magician's Rabbit.
CBS hosts were Jim Nantz and Kim Zimmer.
